It's taken a year or so in the making, and the team at Assured Protect have worked diligently together over all this time in order to create a robust, efficient, Client-centric and user friendly insurance brokerage, which includes niche and unique services.
At the end of 2024, we were hearing more and more about the impending new 'Renters Rights nee Renters Reform' legislation, which seemed to be gaining (negative) traction in the property investor / BTL landlord community. We had the idea to look for a new solid financial solution so that we can hopefully help to steady the worries, and create a foundation to stabilise the BTL market and ensure continued future 'peace of mind'.
We were able to 'soft launch' Assured Protect in July when we called many of our landlord / BTL mortgage and insurance Clients, and we discussed the Renters' Rights Bill (and we spoke about their concerns that they told us about, including their defaulting tenants, unpaid rents, the cost of evictions, mounting legal bills, etc) and we also had the opportunity to talk about the Rent Guarantee Insurance options (which have proven to be the solutions to those concerns), and those discussions definitely seemed to allay the majority of their worries.
Fast forward to late September 2025 and Assured Protect was invited by a leading UK BTL mortgage bank to speak at a Broker event in Cambridge, an audience of approximately 50 specialist mortgage brokers, who advise property investors on finance and insurance matters. We were speaking alongside the NRLA, BM Solutions and also a leading UK tax adviser Firm too. A panel of experts coming together to support the professional financial adviser industry.
We've also been approached by letting agents to support their businesses too, as they are also very worried about the impact on their financial stability which will happen when the (many) changes of the Renters' Rights Bill are implemented, including the loss of ability to charge renewal fees, a process which is being removed.
Assured Protect is now open for business.
Systems, controls, processes, compliance, providers, advisers and the focus on exemplary service, has all been tried and tested. Ok, nothing is ever perfect, but we have really tried to put together a unique, independent and professional insurance service, focusing on the private rental sector in particular.
